Description
We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all vendors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. Under the direction of the Business Administrator, the Accounts Payable Clerk is assigned duties in support of STANCO’s financial processes and transactions. This includes processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures. Performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data preparing bills, invoices, and bank deposits. The Accounts Payable Clerk may be required from time-to-time to cover office phones, fill maintenance requests from tenants, handle initial stages of tenant incidents per property, and help process rent payments and deposits.
Primary Job Functions/Responsibilities
  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payables status. • Understand expense accounts.
  • Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes.
Requirements and skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications are a plus.
  • Proven working experience as Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Familiarity with office equipment (e.g., printers, copiers, and phone systems).
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism.
Additional Information:
  • Part time position – 30 hours a week
  • Starting wage is $20 per hour
